Desert Island Discs - Statto

Desert Island Discs – Statto

In this second edition of Bitrate Music’s Desert Island Disc series, we asked Statto, lead moderator of and head of house for SC Recordings, that same big question: What 8 pieces of music and what single book or text (no religious ones, you get them gratis!) would you want if you were stranded on a desert island for the rest of your time? And as ever, the rules: the castaway is also allowed one luxury item, but nothing that could be used to escape.

Subvert Central is an on-line forum providing a community for lovers of underground music.  SC, having just celebrated its 10th anniversary in October 2012, was originally created as the on-line presence of the (now defunct) Streetbeats label in Reading (U.K). Mainly, but by no means exclusively, focused around electronic dance music, SC is frequented by many producers, independent label owners, bloggers and those with an interest in “subversive music”.  It hosts a fiercely independent community in which two of the most hotly debated subjects are “Photek” (the legendary drum & bass producer) and “snax” (food of the studio Gods). The Urban Dictionary says this about  “Subvert Central“.

So here they are: “Desert Island Discs” from the mind of Statto.
